Adopting an animal from Valley Oak SPCA means you are saving more than one life. When you adopt, you provide kennel space for another animal to wait for its forever home. By adopting an altered pet, that’s one more animal that will not be responsible for bringing unwanted puppies or kittens into our community.

Adopting a dog or cat from a rescue or shelter can be much less expensive compared to buying a purebred pet or even a mixed breed pet sold down the street from you.

Adoption prices can vary. Some animals qualify for special pricing as when adoption fees may be sponsored by a donor.

Military Service program is designed for active, retired and veteran military personnel who would like to adopt a pet. Military Service personnel can adopt a dog or cat at 15% discount. Each adoption also includes a free gift of pet apparel, toy or grooming supplies (while supplies last).

Adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, microchip, initial vaccinations, Bordetella vaccine, Rabies vaccination, flea product, de-wormer, dental cleaning/extractions when needed, grooming and a discount coupon for local dog trainers.

Adopters are responsible for license fees in their city/county.

Foster to Adopt Program: Certain animals qualify for our Foster to Adopt program. This program allows you to take the pet into your home to see if it's a right fit. This program allows you 2 weeks before finalizing adoption. Adoption fee is required up front.
