Valley Oak SPCA recognizes the important role Humane Education plays in helping families understand how to be responsible pet owners.

The more we learn about the animals we live with, the better we will be in providing the best levels of care. Topics like behavior, training, nutrition, socialization and medical care are covered in Humane Education programs.

IN THE CLASSROOM

Valley Oak SPCA brings the lesson to your classroom. Different programs are available for different age groups, and we always bring an animal or two to share with the classroom. Materials and topics will be age appropriate.

SPCA HIGH SCHOOL CLUBS

Valley Oak SPCA will help you set up a club at your high school, and will send a representative to each meeting, to help with projects and topics of discussion.

4-H CLUBS

Valley Oak SPCA will work with your 4-H Club in obedience training or other projects,
and help with meetings and topics of discussion.

CANINE THERAPY

Many people want to train their pets in assisted therapy or to take them to senior homes or hospitals to visit. Valley Oak SPCA coordinates these programs and can point you in the right direction, depending on your time available and the temperament of your animal.

EVENT & CLUB SPEAKERS

Valley Oak SPCA is happy to provide a speaker for your club meeting or special event. We can speak about humane education topics, animal rescue efforts or just educate your group on the Valley Oak SPCA efforts within our communities.

CRITTER CAMP

This summertime day camp held at our Adoption Center provides children and teens an opportunity to spend a few days at our shelter learning about caring for animals. The lessons are age appropriate and the participants learn from a variety of instructors during their week of camp. Lunches and snacks are provided.

SHELTER BIRTHDAY PARTIES

The outdoor space at Valley Oak SPCA can be turned into an outdoor party area complete with special shelter party favors and time with some special animals. Parties are strictly supervised with parents in attendance.
